Art creation as an inevitable necessity

The diploma thesis deals with the question of understanding an individual's creative work as an existential inevitability. It asks questions about the definition of an unavoidable need and examines where such need to create comes from in case of the author of the work, as well as presenting examples of personalities from the world of visual arts and history. The work also investigates the question of the inevitability of creating in connection with teaching practice, based on personal experience, it asks whether art education can be based on a didactic project based on improvisation, on unexpected events and changes, and the need for children to be creative in their free time.

Primary Architecture / Teaching Architecture Elements

The thesis addresses the connection of the Faculty of Architecture and the Faculty of Fine Arts in the newly designed building. Both faculties are defined primarily by practical creation and corresponding elementary teaching spaces - studios. From these basic elements literally grows the final form of the school. The design process itself is accompanied by constant changes and the search for adequate spatial expression for individual functions of the school. The final solution is the result of gradual rationalisation, finding certainties and sticking points in the proposal. In the end, the barest, most elemental, is crystallized from a multitude of variations and reflections on space.

Baugruppe Now

Is it better to live in country or in a city? Great access to work, school, shopping and culture or close proximity to nature, weekend barbecues with neighbors and tranquility. Do we have to choose? Is it possible to combine these qualities? Is the Baugruppe principle able to solve the housing conundrums of the current era? “Baugruppe is a group of people that combine their finances and efforts to construct an apartment building conforming to their notion of ideal living while remaining affordable.” (1) To me the Baugruppe lifestyle seems to be wedged in between the city experience and the more traditional way of living outside of it. In between the preplanned structure of the residences and the organic growth of the dwellings. In this bachelor’s thesis I examine these alternatives and their pros which beg to be merged together. I ponder the question: is it possible to embody this betweenness in the design of the residential complex – in its urban composition, its structure, its formal expression as well as its typology. On one hand prefabricated construction of apartment buildings based on market research brings monotone anonymity on the other hand it allows financial and construction efficiency. While the individual nature of a regular house project may enable freedom of expression, it may also hinder this freedom for any other project surrounding it. The houses themselves reflect the aesthetic values of their owners. The various reworks and additions reflect their changing needs. In Baugruppe the willingness to share space with members of the same community as well as outsiders meets the need to own real estate. The main goal of course still remains living well. In one’s own space, with neighbors of one’s own choosing, utilizing the economic and cultural assets of the city, while saving money that can be better used elsewhere. New Faces

The project New Faces is a series of portraits dealing with the theme of identity and its loss, human individuality and the phenomenon of ideal of beauty. Each of paintings depict different views on the same face, base on personal confessions of portrayed and his friends. Thus we can observe confrontation of the "subjective" and the "objective", where this supposed "objectivity" acquire the relative value in the context of other pictures. The project points to the problem of self-perception and it explores how human perception distorts the reality, especially if more factors (than just a visual image of reality) affects the person.

Multipurpose Town House on Křížová Street, Brno

The aim of the thesis was to design the urban town house in blank space on Krizova street. The blank space is situated on the edge of the Mendel's square, an important transportation node of the city Brno. Spatial and conceptual solutions of the house is based on urban studies of Mendlel's square and its surroundings. The house is designed on a long parcel, which in the urban environment is equivalent to about four houses. Therefore, the house is divided vertically to keep the urban scale. At the same time at both ends it is directly connected to the existing buildings, therefore, different height levels of each mass are designed. Parterre of the house is commercial, as is the same for neighboring houses, in the other floors modern large single deck and maisonettes are designed.

Hyperspeed Reach - Audiovisual Performance

This dissertation thesis describes the phenomenon of audiovisual performance in different connotations. A substantial part is devoted to psychological survey into my own subconscious and subsequently to metaphorical processing of this introspection. An important part of the work is a resume of the general knowledge of the physical properties and its metaphorical application on mental and creative processes. This analysis and explanation of internal cognitive models are implemented in terms of the study of relationships, interactions based on cooperation or confrontation, but also the inability to grasp the objective reality from the subjective position due to the merged distinctions of real and fictional. The importance of audiovisual performance is also studied in linear perspective of history, in order to point out the general principle of repetition patterns, which reveals that audiovisual performances is an activity which is a necessary expression of life itself and not just the concept in the field of arts.

Circumstances affecting the termination of teenager sports training

This bachelor's thesis mainly deals with the circumstances and reasons causing the termination of pre-adolescent sports training. In the theoretical part of the thesis, several topics are mentioned and explained, which are closely related to the given issue. Specifically, the theoretical part discusses youth and their age periods, general sports training, pre-adolescent sports training, motivation, free time and ending sports training. The practical part of the work is based on quantitative research, specifically on anonymous questionnaire survey, in which a total of 103 former athletes between the ages of 18-25, who finished their sports training between the ages of 13-18, were involved. To reach the answers i choosed the so-called snowball technique. The questionnaire survey reveals the answers to the questions whether parents play any role in the termination of sports training, whether early specialization is related to termination, or whether the social capital of the family is related to the peristence of pre-adolescent in sports. The main goal of the bachelor's thesis was to find out the circumstances and reasons for youth leaving organized sports. Prevalence of psychosomatical difficulties by the students of the university of South Bohemia in České Budějovice

The thesis deals with psychosomatics as a discipline. I describe the connection between body and soul. I define the concept of health, illness, some psychosomatic problems and factors influencing the origin of these diseases. The practical part examines the prevalence of individual problems - skin problems, chronic pain, gastrointestinal problems, eating disorders, allergies, asthma and migraines specifically at the students of University of South Bohemia. In the following points, the interrelationship between the problems encountered, the lifestyle and the individuality of each personparticipating in the research are examined. The research problem was solved by using the statistical method of correlation, which found out the relationship between individual aspects.

Journeys to 'I'. Manifestations of individualism in Czech culture of the 19th century

Kniha přináší příspěvky ze 41. ročníku plzeňského mezioborového sympozia, věnovaného manifestacím individualismu v průběhu „dlouhého“ 19. století. Otázky spojené se sebereflexí, sebeprezentací či sebeuskutečněním rezonovaly různým způsobem ve světě mužů a žen z řad měšťanstva, dělnictva i aristokracie. Autoři studií věnují pozornost vyhraněným osobnostem a leckdy složitému hledání a vymezování jejich pozice ve společnosti – vůči ideologickým projektům, uměleckým konvencím apod. Problematika individualismu je v publikaci obsahující obrazovou přílohu nahlížena z perspektivy historie, filozofie a různých uměnověd.
